Péter Weiler
1974 - visual artist, writer

Biography

Weiler Péter is an artist of the generation that experienced the change of regime. His works draw from both the socialist past and the absurd blend of our capitalist world, which is built upon the internet. A central element of Weiler's art is storytelling, where the intertwining of reality and imagination creates a distinctive atmosphere in his images.

In Weiler's paintings, absence and loneliness, the missing details, and the elements and characters absent from the story are as important as the depicted content.

Weiler earned his MFA degree in 2021 from the School of Visual Arts in New York. He is currently a doctoral student at MOME, pursuing a DLA in multimedia art. His research focuses on human creativity in the shadow of Artificial Intelligence.
